The position holder will oversee the day to day running of HRB Clinical Research Co-ordination Ireland (CRCI) activities within the UCD Clinical Research Centre, and will be primarily responsible for successfully driving the local conduct of HRB CRCI projects to a successful conclusion.
The UCD CRC is an academic-led, patient-focused facility for clinical translational research based at both the Mater Misericordiae and St Vincent’s University Hospitals. It operates under a single integrated governance structure within the UCD School of Medicine & Medical Science. In addition to supporting a large portfolio of investigator- and industry-led clinical research projects, the UCD CRC is also a leader in the delivery of clinical research training. The UCD CRC is the focal point for engagement with industry (pharmaceutical companies, CRO’s, regulatory authorities) and has growing national and international collaborations.
The UCD Clinical Research Centre (UCD CRC) is a partner in the recently established Clinical Research Coordination Ireland. CRCI aims to: enhance Ireland’s capacity for conducting innovative high quality clinical research for the benefit of people’s health and the economy; to advance the care of patients by enabling a connected and coordinated Clinical Trial Network; to provide the skills, expertise and infrastructure to design, conduct and analyse multi-centre clinical trials involving human participants in Ireland; to support both academic and industry initiated clinical trials involving pharmaceuticals, neutraceuticals or clinical care pathways as well as clinical investigation of medical devices.
